Aberdeen WA – The Aberdeen Police Department reports that their local Police Explorer Post recently participated in the Law Enforcement Explorer Challenge at Camp Rilea, Oregon.

In total APD says that there were 187 participants from Oregon and Western Washington at the annual event.

According to their report, APD Police Explorers Tagg Meneely, Winnie Fruh, and Abigail Twibell collectively took home the 3rd place finish for their response to the Critical Incident Challenge.

APD also states that they are recruiting for new members to join their team.

The department tells KXRO that they are looking for young adults, between the ages of 15 ½ to 20 years old to join the Police Explorer Post.

Explorers learn about law enforcement first hand through training and riding on patrol with officers.

If you would like to join our Aberdeen Police Explorers Post and are between the ages of 15 1/2 – 20 years old, the police department will be accepting applications starting on August 21st, 2019. Contact  Detective Jeff Weiss at [email protected].
