Aberdeen, WA – There will be a place for homeless to go in the City of Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen City Council passed a report last night that approved up to $30,000 to establish a temporary location for overnight shelter on city property.

Aberdeen Mayor Erik Larson explained that the facility will be in the City Hall parking lot and what the plans are for it.

The council also passed a report that authorizes the mayor to enter into negotiations to acquire a longer term location and to seek additional funding opportunities.

Mayor Larson previously told KXRO that the City will begin a comprehensive clean-up of the River Street property on Monday, July 15th.

A map outlining the proposed layout of the parking lot facility can be found below and the full reports can be found at the link below on pages 127 and 129.
