WOMAN KILLED IN NORTH RIVER FIRE
A fire moved quickly through a single wide mobile home on the North River Road Tuesday afternoon, killing one of the two occupants. Artic Fire Chief Joe Fuquay says his department and a Pacific County Department responded to the home to find it fully engulfed in flames at around 12:15 yesterday afternoon. Pacific County Sheriff Captain Pat Matlock says a female occupant, Valerie Boisen was able to get out safely, but a second female occupant, believed to be Boisen’s mother, Tiffanie Duncan was killed in the fire. Matlock says Boisen attempted to go back into the home to get Duncan out, but was repulsed by smoke and flames. She was taken to Community Hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation. It’s believed the fire started around a washer and dryer in the home’s washroom.
