The Wolfpack is no more; no Wishkah/Lake Quinault high school football this year

The Lake Quinault and Wishkah school districts have announced that there will be no high school football team this season.

Lake Quinault School District posted on their Facebook page;

“Although our coaches encouraged and recruited players on a daily basis, we do not have enough to play. After five practices we had anywhere from 2-6 players eligible to practice. We were hoping to have at least 10 players actively participating at this point. It is our intention to offer other activities after school to give students an opportunity to stay active.”

In 2014, Lake Quinault and Wishkah Valley joined teams for boys sports to create the Twin Valley Wolfpack in order to have enough players.

That joint team is no more.

Wishkah Valley School will have a Middle School football team this year, but staff have confirmed that there will be no High School team this season.

Lake Quinault staff confirm that at this time their Junior High School team is still planning on a season.

The middle school teams have a game planned against each other on Sept. 29 at Lake Quinault.
