Wishkah/Lake Quinault merger coming for boys sports

Rainmakers? Sasquatch? Raiders? Hunters? Pioneers? All could be a future team in North County.

Starting with baseball, Wishkah and Lake Quinault are combining their boys sports.

Wishkah Principal Ray Yoder tells KXRO that in recent years, enrollment numbers have diminished the number of eligible players and Quinault has been facing the same issue.

Because of the combination, there will no longer be any high school boys with Loggers or Elks on their uniforms in the coming years.

The ASBs of both schools are currently running contests to pick the new logo, name, and colors of the combined teams. Beginning in March, there will be a new face for North County sports.

Lake Quinault School posted on their Facebook Page that they are accepting submissions until Friday for look of the combined team.
