Westport Robbery Suspect at Large

The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a robbery suspect.

Monday night, just after 10 pm, a man walked into the Westport Y Deli wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey sweatpants with gloves and a bandanna covering his face. He was described by the clerk as being around 5’8” with a skinny build and a noticeably high pitched voice.

Sheriff Rick Scott told KXRO that when the 31 year old female clerk asked the man to remove the bandanna covering his face, he demanded money. The clerk believed he had a weapon, although it was never fully shown.

The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money as well as cigarettes before he fled the store. He was last seen leaving the scene northbound on SR 105 in what appeared to be a dark newer model compact car, similar to a Honda Accord.

Aberdeen Police were dispatched to meet the suspect on the road, but it appears the car turned off of the road before meeting with police.

Video surveillance was taken from the store and deputies will be reviewing that footage.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department at (360)249-3711 or through the Grays Harbor Communications Center at (360) 533-8765.
