Two car collision sends woman to hospital

Chinook, WA – A two car collision in Pacific County sent a woman to the hospital.

The Washington State Patrol tells KXRO that a 58 year old Long Beach woman was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle north on SR 101 near Valley St. in Chinook at about 6:00 p.m. yesterday evening.

The State Patrol says the woman then fell asleep, crossed the center line, and hit a 2013 Ford Escape that was parked on the shoulder of the southbound side of the road.

The woman was transported to Ocean Beach Hospital for her injuries and her car was totaled in the collision.

The Ford Escape was unoccupied and received reportable damage. 

The State Patrol says the woman was charged with 2nd Degree Negligent Driving.
