Training for small business owners and prospective owners starts soon

Aberdeen, WA – Local training for local residents interested in starting or strengthening a small business start this week.

Enterprise for Equity will be bringing small business training starting Friday, providing in-person training and coaching for developing a strategic business plan.

This training is made available through special funding by the Washington State Community Development Block Grant Program with federal funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

These classes will take place from Noon to 1 in Aberdeen and Hoquiam locations on May 31st, June 7th, June 28th, July 12th, and August 23rd.

In a release, Enterprise for Equity says that participants will learn ways to market a business, price products or services, develop operations and
sustainable practices, get a handle on taxes, understand business finances, identify target customers, and more.

“One-on-one coaching is a key component of the training and is offered to support the specific needs of owners and their businesses.”

The training will include;

  • a 1-hour Information Session,
  • a 2-day Business Readiness Workshop,
  • and a one-evening-a-week Business Planning Program (running October 3rd through December 19th)

The Information Session and 2-day Workshop are free, with the only expense to students in a $150 fee for the Business Planning Program.

Additionally, Enterprise for Equity provides an opportunity for low-to-moderate income earning graduates of the Business Planning Program to apply for micro-loans up to $25,000.
