Traffic Slowdown this Thursday on SR8 near Elma
September 16, 2024 8:35AM PDT
The Washington State Department of Transportation are cautioning travelers to plan for extra time this Thursday September 19th as crews plan to do work related to the fish barrier removal project.
The work will occur as follows:
6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19:
- Multiple rolling slowdowns between Elma and McCleary.
- Each rolling slowdown will happen at unscheduled times.
- Add at least 15 minutes travel time to help prevent delays.
DOT asks you to please do not pass the vehicles temporarily slowing traffic. The crews are there for your safety.
Crews will use two large cranes to place five support beams onto a new bridge on westbound SR 8 near Wildcat Creek. The bridge, along with its eastbound counterpart, replaces an outdated culvert that blocks fish habitat under the highway.
