SURVIVAL CELEBRATED AT 7TH STREET

Tuesday was a night to party at Hoquiam’s 7th Street Theater as the Hoquiam Business Association celebrated the re-opening of the Simpson Avenue Bridge. Performances by the Hoquiam High School Band, a Harbor dance group and a sing along to a re-vamped version of Gloria Gainers “I Will Survive” were all part of the evening that allowed the city to celebrate what HBA President Greg McHugh described as Hoquiam being brought back together. The bridge was shutdown in August due to a damaged pier, but finally opened this month after expedited repair work by the DOT and Quigg Brothers construction.
