SPEZIA WITHDRAWS FROM MAYORS RACE

The four-way race for mayor in Aberdeen has lost one of its competitors. Daily World Advertising Director Mike Spezia has had to with draw from the race. Spezia says the Stevens Media Group has a policy on managers holding elected office in the markets they serve. Spezia says he was looking forward to the chance to serve the city from the mayor’s office, but will continue to work with community groups to help Aberdeen move forward. Spezia’s withdrawal leaves three candidates on the ballot: Mayor Bill Simpson, Councilman Paul Fritts and Delores Cobb.
