Skolrood says goodbye to Aberdeen Council

The City of Aberdeen said goodbye to Finance Director Kathryn Skolrood last night in her final meeting with the City Council.

It was announced last week that Skolrood will be taking a job as the Chief Financial Officer of the Grays Harbor PUD.

“I am both grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve the residents of Grays Harbor as the CFO of their utility district,” Skolrood said in that announcement. “For 28 years I have served my friends and neighbors in Grays Harbor through public accounting and positions within municipal and county government.  I have always enjoyed working for the organizations that serve the people of Grays Harbor and the chance to continue that service at the Grays Harbor PUD is a great opportunity and one I am very much looking forward to.”

At the meeting, current Mayor Erik Larson spoke on working with her in the brief time he has held office.

Former Mayor Bill Simpson also spoke on his experience with Skolrood.

Skolrood will start with the Grays Harbor PUD on April 27.
