PUD working to restore power during storm

With the storm bringing high winds the Grays Harbor PUD is working to restore power outages.

Most major outages after last night’s storm have been cleared with the exception of approximately 120 customers in the Axford Prairie area south of Humptulips.  That outage is expected to last quite a few hours today as crews make repairs.

The PUD says crews are also working on scattered outages across the county including Grays Harbor City, North Shore Rd, Newman Creek Rd and Burrows Road.

If you are still without power, call the PUD Powerhouse at 360 537-3721 or 1 888 541-5923.

The High Wind Warning is in effect till 9am this morning. A High Surf Warning will last through 4pm this afternoon. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Washington Coast beginning 9 am this morning through 4pm today. Sustained winds will be 20-35 mph and gust to 45 mph along the coast.

Showers will continue throughout the day along with the possibility of thunderstorms. Grays Harbor Emergency Management says rain during thunderstorm events could be very heavy.

Seas are expected to grow to 25-28 feet today.  Areas of concern are Westport, Ocean Shores and Taholah due to severe erosion possibilities.
