Thurston County SWAT apprehended Steven Daniel Kravetz from a home in the 300 block of Division in Olympia this afternoon. Washington State Patrol Trooper Russ Winger and Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott told KXRO that Kravetz was apprehended without incident. SWAT and K9 units from Grays Harbor searched a house in Montesano in the hours after the incident, but reports say Kravetz called and received a ride from his mother to Olympia.

The apprehension ends a manhunt that closed all county offices and many businesses in Montesano Friday afternoon. Kravetz is suspected in the stabbing of Judge David Edwards and shooting of Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Deputy Polly Davin within the courthouse. Both the judge and deputy have been treated and released from Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
