Pacific County Sheriff’s Office renews mutual aid agreement with WA/OR counties
The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office will continue to be available to help other regional offices.
In a Facebook post from the office, Sheriff Robin Souvenir reports that he has renewed the Mutual Interstate Law Enforcement Assistance Agreement that will allow Pacific County to assist Wahkiakum and Cowlitz Counties, as well as Columbia and Clatsop Counties in Oregon.
In the post, they say that the agreement allows the local deputies to assist with law enforcement efforts, but also allows those offices to send assistance if needed in Pacific County.
According to the Daily Astorian, the agreement began in 2011 following the shooting of former Pacific County Sheriff Scott Johnson in Long Beach and the fatal shooting of Rainier Police Chief Ralph Painter.
The agency also has mutual aid agreements with local and other offices.
