Pacific Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant looking for new equipment

The Pacific Beach area could be getting new equipment for wastewater treatment but not without a price.

The Grays Harbor County Commissioners approved a request at their Monday meeting to allow the Public Services Director to apply for a low interest loan from the Department of Health for a water tank and water booster station at the Pacific Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Along with the new equipment there will likely come an increase in the rates for a single family residence from $36 per month to $37.45 per month starting in 2018.

Commissioner Vickie Raines said there were several years when the county did not increase the rate so now adjustments are being made.

The new equipment will address current deficiencies at the water treatment facility.
