A new alternative map has been put into the hat for the proposed redistricting of Grays Harbor. This new map released Thursday includes Westport into District 2 on the south as well as a portion of Central Park that includes PUD Commissioner Dave Timmons. In this new map Cosmopolis, the Wishkah Valley and Junction City are all included into District 3 and the North County.

If this 4th alternative map were to be accepted no Commissioners would be stripped of the districts they were voted into. Westport would be included into District 2, and the districts would be proportioned equally within 6 residents. These were 2 of the goals of the Grays Harbor County Auditor’s office after the results of the recent census. Meanwhile, Central Park would still be split between districts.
