Corrine Schmid has been hired as the City of Hoquiam’s new Finance Director.
“In looking to fill our finance director position we felt it imperative they be resourceful, inventive, and responded positively to challenges. They needed to be cognizant of balancing the needs of the city as a whole and showed that they put a high premium on working in a strong team environment. Ms. Schmid brought that to the table and then some,” said Mayor Jasmine Dickhoff.
“We were fortunate to receive interest from many qualified individuals. I firmly believe that is a testament to the positive reputation the City of Hoquiam has for its professionalism, tenacity and culture as both a city and a municipal institution. It just so happened that the best fit came from right here in our own back yard. For this we are both extremely grateful and proud. Welcome to the team.”

“I am looking forward to being the City of Hoquiam’s Finance Director and utilizing the knowledge I have obtained during my tenure at the State Auditor’s Office. I want to make a difference in my hometown and take on a bigger role in my community,” said Schmid.

“She will make an excellent addition to the City of Hoquiam’s management team,” said City Administrator Brian Shay. I was extremely impressed with her analytical thinking and communication skills.”
“Her experience with municipal finance will be extremely valuable as we begin the 2017-2018 budget and plan for the future.”
