Hoquiam, WA – The Hoquiam City Council has a new member.

On Monday night, Hoquiam Mayor Jasmine Dickhoff swore in Elizabeth Reid to fill a vacancy on the city council in Ward 6.

The vacancy was left by Mary Stinchfield when she stepped down in June saying her cancer needed her full time attention.

Reid said that she wanted serve to help out her neighborhood.

Reid said that she has also filed for the council seat in the special filing period which was held because no candidates filed for that seat previously.

Her term will run until that election is certified and the winner of that election will serve for two years.
