Motorcycle accident near Bone River results in fatality
South Bend, WA – A fatal motorcycle accident outside South Bend blocked Highway 101 for over 3 hours.
The Washington State Patrol reports that an accident on Wednesday saw a motorcycle rider leave the road and strike a guardrail, killing the man.
According to the State Patrol, a 44-year-old South Bend man was riding south on SR 101 Wednesday afternoon just before 2 pm near Bone River.
The motorcycle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway, taking the 1992 Yamaha XJ600 to the right, striking a guardrail and killing the man at the scene.
The man was wearing a USDOT compliant helmet at the time of the accident. It is not known at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
The roadway was blocked for over 3 hours for a collision investigation.
