Menlo man arrested after foot chase

A South Bend burglary suspect was arrested after a foot chase in Raymond.

The South Bend Police Department received a call about a residential burglary and were advised of the suspect and vehicle description.

South Bend and Raymond Police, as well as the Pacific County Sheriff’s Department were told that the vehicle may be headed toward Raymond and began actively looking for the car.

A South Bend officer saw the vehicle in the Riverview area and conducted a stop, but when he did the suspect ran from the vehicle and a foot chase ensued. Officers located the suspect hiding in a nearby shed.

The suspect was identified as Paul Martin of Menlo. A significant amount of illegal drugs were found on Martin, and he was booked into Pacific County Jail for burglary, drug charges and obstructing.

Detectives from Pacific County Drug Task Force were also on scene to assist.
