Aberdeen, WA – Overnight traffic delays are coming to East Aberdeen as the Washington State Department of Transportation prepares a left turn lane at US 12 and Chehalis Street.

In an advisory, WSDOT says that crews will be restriping a segment of eastbound US 12 near Chehalis Street to create a new left-turn.

Currently, left turns are allowed in the westbound lanes, but traffic was moved onto side streets to get into the residential neighborhood from US 12.

from 8 pm Thursday, June 20, to 4 am Friday, June 21, drivers will see one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers at the intersection.

They say that these changes are the result of a Practical Solutions process that saw traffic engineers looking for “cost-effective ways to improve traffic flow and reduce the potential for collisions”.

The work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled.
