Jamie Nichols to challenge Commissioner Wes Cormier in November

After the first count East County Democrat Jamie Nichols looks to be on the ballot in November to challenge the seat of Republican Grays Harbor County Commissioner Wes Cormier.

Following the preliminary results on Tuesday, Cormier holds the lead in District #1 with 54.35%.

Nichols trails Cormier with 23.62% looking to earn her place on the General Election ballot.

Cormier is running for a 2nd term in the office after being elected in 2012.

Democrat Al Smith trails with 21.86% and is currently is not earning enough votes in the Top 2 Primary to qualify for the ballot.

This is the first political campaign run for Nichols.
