Hoquiam looking for new City Councilmember

The City of Hoquiam has begun to accept applications to fill a seat on their city council representing the east side of the city.

The City of Hoquiam has a council vacancy in the 6th Ward after Mary Stinchfield resigned her seat in June to focus her time on cancer treatments.

Stinchfield’s seat was included into the offices up for election this year, although no candidates had placed their name on the ballot during Filing Week. 

No date has been set for a special filing period for any candidates to the position.

Any interested citizen living with in this Ward, wishing to be considered to serve the remainder of this term through 2019, can submit a letter of interest by 5 o’clock on July 31st 2019 to the City of Hoquiam Attention: Council Secretary, 609 8th Street Hoquiam, WA 98550.
