High Wind Watch for Thursday night

A High Wind Watch is in Effect for Thursday night.

The National Weather Service says the watch is for Thursday evening through late Thursday night and possibly into the early hours of Friday.

They are expecting the winds to peak around midnight.

The Weather Service says south to southeast winds of 25 to 40 MPH are possible with gusts around 60 MPH.

The strong winds could break tree limbs, topple small trees, and possibly cause power outages.

A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for damaging winds.
