Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Deputies Investigate Numerous Assaults

The Grays Harbor Sherriff’s Office say they have responded to numerous Domestic Violence complaints this week.

A call came in Monday afternoon and deputies were called to a residence in the 2100 block of SR 105 in Grayland.

The caller said that a man had punched a woman in the face at that location. Deputies arrived and learned that the woman had sustained facial injuries, but was refusing aid. A 30 year old man was found and arrested for assault 2nd degree. He was transported to the Grays Harbor County Jail and booked for Domestic Violence Assault 2nd degree.

The suspect and the victim, both residents of Grayland, had children together, but it is unknown whether they were living together at the time.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Mox Chehalis Road near McCleary earlier this week for a report of an assault involving a hatchet. Deputies arrived and learned that a 64 year old man had been struck in the face with a hatchet by a 37 year old suspect. Reportedly it was an unprovoked attack by the 37 year old, believed to be under the influence of drugs.

After the assault, the suspect fled the home. The victim was transported to Mark Reed Hospital where his injuries were not believed to be critical.

Deputies later contacted the suspect and placed him under arrest for Domestic Violence Assault 2nd degree. The suspect had been living at the victim’s residence for the past month after moving from a residence in Milton.

Deputies responded to a stabbing at approximately 4:30 am Tuesday morning at a mobile home park in Elma. Deputies arrived to find a 44 year old woman with stab wounds to the abdomen. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The suspect of the stabbing was a 53 year old Elma man. He was located and arrested by deputies for the assault. The suspect was transported to Grays Harbor County Jail and booked for Domestic Violence Assault 2nd degree.
