Grays Harbor Primary Election results

Tuesday’s Primary Election results show few races as close as that of Grays Harbor County Commissioner Position 2. Currently Aberdeen City Councilman Frank Gordon has the lead with 29.87% followed by Allan Shores with 27.96%. Michael Bruce is in a close third with 23.19%.

Incumbent Mike Wilson received only 18.98% of the vote.

Incumbent Terry Willis in her Position 1 seat is also trailing behind challenger Wes Cormier. Cormier currently leads by 99 votes after the Primary, with 51.31% of the total vote.

The sole levy vote not in majority on Tuesday is for Fire District 5, which shows a 58.67% No vote.
All other Fire levies are passing.

The City of Ocean Shores shows only 56 votes deciding whether or not to continue support for the public library with 51.84% in favor.

The City of Westport property levy is showing a 74.5% Yes vote after the primary.

In other races, Aberdeen’s Arie Callaghan currently leads the race to replace retiring Grays Harbor PUD Commissioner Tom Casey. Callaghan has over 47% of the vote, Chris Thomas and Jeff Nichols trail at 27% and 24% respectively.

Incumbent Senator Brian Hatfield, and Representatives Dean Takko and Jim Hargrove all lead their races with over 60% of the vote.

11,707 votes were counted, a 31.46% voter turnout.

The next scheduled ballot count will be Thursday at 5pm.

The results are scheduled to be certified on August 21st.
