GHC REDISTRICTING HEARING RECAP

The Grays Harbor County Commissioners public hearing yesterday on redistricting alternatives was more of a whimper than a roar with only two people showing up to offer public comment.

Cosmopolis Mayor Vickie Raines was one of those who spoke and reiterated the city’s position that none of the four proposed redistricting maps was acceptable.

She cited Central Park being split as well as Cosmopolis being taken out of district two as just two reasons to reject the proposed redistricting.

The commissioners will vote on their redistricting choice at next Monday’s meeting.
