Full scale emergency exercise today in Elma

There will be a full scale, simulated earthquake/natural gas pipe leak and explosion exercise by Williams/Northwest Pipeline and Grays Harbor Energy Corporation today from 10-noon on Keys Road in Elma.

This exercise will test their response on earthquake, leak, explosion, and the possible injuries.

There will be equipment and vehicles moving throughout the area during the exercise as if it were a real emergency. Chuck Wallace, Deputy Director at Grays Harbor Emergency Management reminds residents that this is just an exercise.

Some closures on low traveled roads in East County will be needed during the exercise.
