Folkers named as Aberdeen Finance Director

The City of Aberdeen has a new Finance Director.

On Wednesday night, Mayor Erik Larson officially confirmed the appointment of Mike Folkers as the new Finance Director for the City.

Larson made his appointment, saying that Folkers will be “an asset for the City”.

Folkers will leave his current position in the City of Hoquiam as he replaces Kathryn Skolrood who took a job as Finance Director of the Grays Harbor PUD, following the departure of Doug Streeter, who took a job as Finance Director at the City of Montesano.

The position is effective July 18.

A job posting has already been placed on the City of Hoquiam website and applications are being accepted.
