FOGGY MORNINGS MEAN DRIVERS NEED TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL

Our recent string of foggy mornings means has prompted Grays Harbor County Emergency Management director Chuck Wallace to warn drivers that they need to be extra careful on the roads.

Motorists should slow down, leave additional space between vehicles, use low beams only at night and use the right edge of the road (aka fog line) as a guide rather than the center line, to avoid running into oncoming traffic or becoming distracted by their headlights.

The fog can also cause slippery conditions because we haven’t had any appreciable rain lately and the moisture can loosen the buildup of tire oil on the roads.
