First meeting for new Aberdeen Mayor

Mayor Erik Larson sat in front of an Aberdeen City Council meeting for the first time on Wednesday night, and laid out his plans to start the year.

Larson added that he’s already made use of his new office.

While Larson had observed many meetings during his campaign, he had a whole new view last night.

During the meeting, the Mayor saw unanimous votes to both extend the moratorium on crude oil facilities within the city, as well as the addition of new land as a portion of the parking lot next to City Drug was donated to them from the Estate of Ann Weatherwax.

Larson also saw his first meeting end with Councilman Pete Schave returning as Council President for 2016.
