Everett man dies while fishing in Copalis Beach

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office announced to KXRO that a fisherman was pronounced dead over the weekend in Copalis Beach.

The man, reported missing on Friday morning, has been identified, and next of kin is being located.

According to reports, a woman called the E911 Dispatch Center on Friday morning to report that the 66 year old Everett man had been fishing with 3 other people and was missing.

She said that they were near the Benner Road beach approach in Copalis Beach and EMS was sent to the scene along with Deputies.

The report says that the man was found around 10 minutes later and CPR was given on scene before he was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital, but was pronounced dead.

The man was identified as a 66 year old man from Everett.

GHSO says that it is unknown if the man had a medical event or somehow was overcome by the water.
