Elma man dies after becoming pinned between 2 vehicles

An 81 year old Elma man died on Monday after becoming pinned between 2 vehicles in Satsop. Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call for a man down in the 100 block of Keyes Rd just after 4pm yesterday. Witnesses on scene told deputies that 81 year old Ray Scott and his family had been preparing cattle for sale. Scott had moved to the back of his truck to get gloves when his wife of over 50 years pulled behind him to park. When she stopped her SUV, it lunged forward, pinning Scott between the 2 vehicles.

Sheriff’s Deputies and family members were able to perform CPR on Scott before an aid crew from Fire District #5 arrived on scene and continued aid. Scott was transported to the Elma Airport to be flown by medevac to Harborview Medical Center. While crews prepared Scott they determined he had passed due to his injuries.

Scott is the father of Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott. Grays Harbor Chief Deputy Dave Pimentel tells KXRO that because of this connection, Washington State Patrol will be conducting the investigation.
