Denny’s could be coming back to Aberdeen

Aberdeen could be seeing one of its closed restaurants re-open within a year.

Aberdeen Mayor Bill Simpson announced at the Aberdeen City Council meeting on Wednesday that Denny’s is coming back.

In December 2011 the restaurant was abruptly closed. The diner’s owner, who had changed the business from a Denny’s to an America’s Diner, told employees about the closure with a note on the door.

Following the closure, local residents raised nearly $17,000 for the terminated employees.
