COUNTY SHIFTS TIRE COLLECTION DATES

Grays Harbor will continue its participation in a waste tire disposal program with the Department of Ecology, shifting the dates to between the end of May and the end of August.  While dates for the two free drop off sites for the waste tires have yet to be set, the Commission Chair Terry Willis says the participation in the summer program will serve two purposes, first to remove an environmental blight by providing an alternative to the storage or dumping of waste tires and secondly, removing potential habitat for mosquitoes which use standing water in the tires to lay eggs.
