Cosmopolis Mayor Vickie Raines has offered up a fifth proposal for the Grays Harbor County Commissioners redistricting.

Raines – who spoke at Monday’s public hearing on redistricting – has asked that the Commissioners consider the creation of an alternative that keeps Cosmopolis in District 2 and reallocates (by population) the areas of Junction City, Central Park and the surrounding area of Aberdeen Lake.

In a letter sent to the Commissioners on Tuesday, Raines again stated  she does not agree that the lines in redistricting alternative number four (the one preferred by the Commissioners) are clearly distinguishable by her constituents.

Raines also asked that there be a combined meeting at which the PUD and Port Commissioners would be in attendance.
