City of Hoquiam sends own response to crude by rail EIS

The Hoquiam City Council passed a resolution last night in regards to the crude by rail projects that are looking to come to the Port of Grays Harbor.

The resolution states that the City of Hoquiam supports the creation of clear federal guidelines to implement safety regulations. The resolution goes on to point out areas that should be studied in the Environmental Impact Statement that will be done on the projects.

The resolution was passed unanimously, and even though it was after the 5pm deadline for the scoping period, City Administrator Brian Shay said that a draft of the resolution was sent in on Friday so that it could be in on time.
