City of Hoquiam Recognize Police Following Standoff

A proclamation was made at the Hoquiam City Council Monday for the appreciation and support of the Police Department.

Hoquiam Mayor Jack Durney issued a proclamation following the work done by not only the Hoquiam Police department but multiple agencies that responded to the stand off in Hoquiam that lasted over 20 hours. Mayor Durney spoke on the professionalism of the department.

Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers also talked about the injuries of Hoquiam Police Sergeant Jeff Salstrom who was injured at the beginning of the incident. Myers said that it was a true team effort and cited not only police agencies but even helpful residents in the area who let officers utilize their homes and local businesses that donated food.
