CENTRAL PARK MAN TO FACE CHARGES FOR ALLEGED TRANSIT BUS LURING

A Central Park man will face attempted kidnapping charges after allegedly trying to lure a girl off a Grays Harbor Transit bus. Captain John Green says the 36 year old suspect reportedly spoke to the eight year old girl, asked her to come with him and repeatedly tried to touch her as she rode the bus with her brother and a friend on December 2nd. Green says luckily an acquaintance of the girl was on the bus and intervened, telling the suspect to leave the bus, which he did. The case was reported to officers four days later and the suspect was arrested on unrelated warrants. Green says transit surveillance video clearly shows the man talking to the girl and the witness confronting him. Deputy Prosecutor Craig Newman says the man will face charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Kidnapping and will make his appearance in Superior Court on February 8th.
