Burglary suspects arrested following crime spree

The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department arrested 2 men over the weekend following a series of burglaries in East County.

Sheriff Rick Scott says that the burglaries first occurred on May 9th at an espresso stand on Schouweiler Tract Road, as well as homes on Strawberry Hill in Elma, at a Wynoochee Valley home in Montesano, as well as homes on South Union and O’Neill Roads.

Deputy Kevin Schrader had been conducting the investigation, and was led to a 40 year old suspect with Grays Harbor ties. Around 4 am on Sunday, a traffic stop was made on a car containing the suspect as well as another 40 year old man. The primary suspect attempted to flee from the scene and was tazed before both men were taken into custody.

Following the arrests, a search warrant on both the car and a Central Park home were conducted where Deputies recovered evidence linking the suspects to the series of burglaries.

Scott told KXRO that while the ringleader in the burglaries has been arrested, there may be additional arrests and the investigation is continuing.
