Alert citizen’s observation leads to arrest

An alert citizen’s observation led to an arrest in Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen Police Department tells KXRO that on Wednesday at about 1:00pm, a citizen called 911 and reported to police, that he saw a suspicious grey Dodge mini-van driving on gravel walking trails with the rear window broken out.

Police say the license plate number revealed the vehicle was possibly stolen out of Thurston County.

They say Aberdeen Officers located the vehicle as it was leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop.

Officers confirmed that the vehicle was stolen and the 25 year old man from Olympia was taken into custody for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving on a Suspended License.

The Aberdeen Police Department would like to thank the citizens involved in this incident for quickly reporting suspicious circumstances to 911.
