Aberdeen, WA – An Aberdeen Student placed in top three of congressional art contest.

U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer announced on Wednesday that that Aberdeen High School student Josh Farrar was placed in the top three for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition.

The annual nationwide art competition allowed high school students from across the United States to showcase their artistic ability with the chance of having their work displayed in the nation’s capital.

“We have incredibly talented young artists across the region, and I want to congratulate Josh for submitting a remarkable piece of art” said Rep. Kilmer. “The Congressional Art Competition provides students with an opportunity to show off their work – and earn a chance to win a trip to Washington, D.C. The artwork submitted this year was really impressive, and I want to thank everyone who participated.”

This ranking is for Washington’s 6th Congressional District, which Kilmer represents.

 

Judges for the event included ArtsWA Project Manager Heide Fernandez-Llamazares, Tacoma Arts Commissioner Davis Freeman, and Spaceworks Artscapes Coordinator `Gabriel Brown.
