Aberdeen starts process to adjust code on temporary use of property

Aberdeen, WA – Last Night at the Aberdeen City Council  Meeting, the first reading was passed for an Ordinance amending Aberdeen Municipal Code regarding Temporary Uses of property.

Council member Dee Anne Shaw explained that the ordinance will affect the ongoing farmers market and other businesses.

According to the ordinance, the City’s code is in serious need of an update so that they can accommodate longer term temporary uses that are more than 30 days in length, so long as those uses are compatible with or have limited impact on neighboring properties and the public at large.

The second reading and a public on the issue will be at the council’s next meeting on June 26th.
