Aberdeen looking for best use for pontoon site

The City of Aberdeen is hoping to get funding for the State Route 520 Pontoon Site.

At the city council meeting Wednesday night the council passed a resolution authorizing the submission of an application for a grant worth $50,000 to find the best use for the site that was used to make the pontoons for the new 520 bridge.

Aberdeen Mayor Erik Larson said this is something that could really benefit the city and the Department of Transportation which still owns the land.

Larson explained what the long term goal for the study would be.

The resolution was passed unanimously.
