Aberdeen, WA – The Aberdeen City Council added funding for the operation of the temporary shelter location at City Hall.

At their meeting Wednesday night, the council approved a report for an additional $10,000 for the operation of the site.

Mayor Erik Larson explained why the funds are needed.

The report was adopted unanimously.

Multiple residents of the shelter site spoke at the meeting thanking the city and police for their help.

Aberdeen Councilman Jim Cook also praised Police for their efforts.

Community Development Director Lisa Scott told the council that if use of the site is continued the cost would not be as high because of the one time costs that were necessary for setting it up.
