Aberdeen City Council pass budget

Last night, the Aberdeen City Council passed their budget for 2014.

The council had two amendments that passed unanimously to balance the budget but there was debate about the amount of funding for the Splash Festival. Councilman Tim Alstrom spoke on the event and how much the city should be responsible for. He said that in recent years, the festival has been primarily city run, and he worries that it may become too much for the budget in the coming years.

After the amendments, the budget passed unanimously.
