Aberdeen cancels next council meeting

The Aberdeen City Council has cancelled their next scheduled meeting.

The normal council meeting scheduled for June 22nd has been cancelled, but the June 29th meeting will proceed, according to Mayor Erik Larson.

In the charter for the City of Aberdeen, it states that the regular city council meetings “shall not be oftener than once a week nor less frequent than every two weeks”.

The council has scheduled meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

Due to some months having five Wednesdays, an additional meeting is scheduled and normally cancelled for the final week of the month.
