The Department of Fish and Wildlife has been dealing with a rash of poaching cases in the past year and while they have been able to bring a number of offenders to justice, thanks to attentive radio listeners and fellow hunters, there are still outstanding cases they are attempting to close. One of those involved four elk shot to death on the Sprucedale M Line logging road south of Aberdeen. Sergeant Matt Nixon says the four animals were shot November 23rd of last year, with two of the elk butchered and the other two left to rot. Anyone with any information on that or other poaching cases can contact Sergeant Nixon at 538 7593 or the Montesano Fish and Wildlife office at 249 6522.
