Washington State Department has released county-by-county unemployment numbers for December 2011, and Grays Harbor showed an increase. Grays Harbor rose from 12.8% in November to 13.5% in December. Grays Harbor showed the 2nd highest unemployment numbers in December behind only Ferry County with 14.0%. Unemployment numbers from December 2010 showed the county rate at 13.1%.

Pacific County remained even from November to December at 11.9%, but saw a slight increase from 2010 when their unemployment was 11.8%

Statewide, the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a drop in the unemployment rate from 8.7 percent in November to 8.5 percent in December.
